Through my life, particulary in my younger years; I have a huge list people I need to thank for the support I’ve been given. The reality is, I wouldn’t be the person I am today with each and everyone of them. This includes family, friends, companies, bosses, advisors, professors and teachers. They know who they are, and so to you, ‘Thank you! You are the best and I cannot thank you enough’. Today, I’m going to be handing out a more specific thank you for an opportunity that I’m going to be having this coming week.
To give you a little background as to why this is especially important to me. When this was all going on, I was ending one job and starting a new one. With two weeks between each job I had a lull in paychecks. For my new job I had to buy a new truck, rent a new apartment and pay my normal bills on top of that. Needless to say I was tight on money. It wasn’t that I couldn’t afford it all, because I could, especially once I started my new job. The challenge was making it all float until I started this new job.
When I got my email congratulating me on being accepted to the AgChat Foundation Conference for 2010, I was thrilled to be going. Immediately I began scheming how I was going to be paying for it. Although nothing came to mind, I knew one way or another I would cover the costs and pay for the trip. I knew that being able to hone my communication skills would be something I had to do, otherwise I would regret it.
During my last few weeks of work, I got a call in the morning. I couldn’t believe what the call was about. It was to tell me that I had won the NutriDense Web Moo.0 Contest. When I had entered the contest, I never imagined I would win. I thought my blog post was good, but not great (you can read it here). Winning the contest was exactly what I needed, I won my entire trip to the conference free! I couldn’t believe it that this had happened to me exactly when I needed it.
With this all said, I would like to extend a very sincere thank you to NutriDense for giving me this opportunity and I am looking forward to this conference. You probably had no idea how much this mattered to me at that time. If you would like to learn more about me or NutriDense check out their blog! Their new post is about learning more about me, check it out here!
