Now, World Dairy Expo is many things to many people. Personally, my favorite part is the show. Seeing the cows walk along that colored sawdust in their Sunday best. In recent years, I have learned that I am a “Showaholic”. A.k.a. someone who has a passion for the excitement and the atmosphere of a show. The reason I am a showaholic isn’t because I love dairy shows, it’s because I can watch other species including horses, beef and dogs (just to name a few) show as well. I’ve never showed any of those species, which makes my interest odd.
Regardless of how odd my interest is, I am happy report that I made it to the wonderful town of Madison, Wisconsin. With a warm dairy welcome I headed into the Alliant Energy Center to see what was going on with the show.
I was thrilled to find that my favorite breed was just finishing up! I got there just in time to see one of the champions crowned.
The show is just one small part of the World Dairy Expo experience. Tomorrow I will report on more of the happenings.

Oh my gosh! My family thinks I’m crazy because I really can watch any kind of a show. I’m an addict of the atmosphere. You should certainly try to make it out here at least once, it’s a wonderful experience. The Pygmy Goat show will be a blast though! Those are one of the few goat breeds I actually find cute. 🙂

I have yet to attend such a grand show for farm animals! What fun! This weekend I’ll be attending a Pygmy Goat show at our local Harvest Fair. Can’t wait to see those cute lil’ things:) Have fun at the remainder of the show!
