The next dairy breed I’m going to talk about is the most popular breed in the world. This breed is the Holstein. 97% of the dairy cattle population is Holstein.

Holsteins are the largest of the dairy breeds, averaging out at 1,200 pounds on average. Did you know the average Holstein can produce 8 gallons of milk a day? The Holstein cow can come in more than one color. Holsteins can be black and white or red and white.
If you visit a dairy farm, you will most likely see Holsteins on the farm in the black and white colors. They are by far the most popular and if you would like more information about this breed click here to visit Holstein USA. Two breeds down, only five to go!
