Many of you out there may think farmers rarely get off the farm other than to go pick up equipment they need in an emergency. Or to go to Church on Sunday. But I have 400 examples of how that doesn’t happen as much any more.
Although there are still farmers who don’t venture off the farm often it is not the norm in the indutry today. Farmers realize the importance to continue their education and companies see the value in sharing the resources they have. In addition, dairy farmstead love to talk to each other. There is a great comradery in farming and they love to share their stories.
I’m at one example of these events this week. This morning Dairy Summit 2010 began. It is an event put on every year by Vita Plus. Vita Plus is a Midwest, employee owned nutrition company. This year we have 400 farmers attending the two days of education and social meetings.
The attendees will learn about the latest in dairy nutrition, comfort and care that they can take home to their farms. Stay tuned for more updates and pictures from the conference
