I was thinking the other day that my readers always just hear about my farming skills. When really, there is a lot more to me than just cows. So, today I intend to prove this. Before we get into my project, I have to tell you that I didn’t do this entire project alone. I had lots of help from my sister Lauren and my Dad. What was this project?
When I was looking to move into my apartment I knew a few basic furniture items I would need. Luckily, it was garage sale season and for $10 my mom found this old dresser. Honestly, it was just particle board and looked rather ugly under all my paint. Since it was made in the 70s it was well made and was worth it to put an extra $50 into it.
I think I remember the decorating guru, Nate Berkus, said old particle board is still high enough quality that you can gently sand it and repaint it. This project came up before The Nate Show started so I guess that means I’m kinda cool. I already knew I wanted my bedroom colors to be purple, black and white. But the struggle was what to do on the front of the dresser. I felt like it needed something to make it pop.
To make it unique my sister and wallpapered the front of the drawers. The pattern of the drawers actually follows exactly what it would look like on a wall. I’m pretty proud of it if I do say so myself. Honestly, it was not that hard and I have total faith that you can do something just like it!
