Fall Beauty Swap Jackpot

A few weeks ago I helped out Crystal from Crystal Cattle with her latest Beauty Swap. I was so excited to be able to help her with this project because I love a good Beauty Swap and this one was a total success. So, thank you to everyone that participated and for those of you that missed out, keep your eyes pealed for the next one! If you love anything beauty related, you will really enjoy this. 

 

I got paired with an amazing woman named Kayla Ross. She grew up on an Oklahoma cattle ranch and now travels with her husband around the country in a 5th wheel. Her husband is a welder on pipe lines so they move from place to place depending on where the next job is!  I totally give her credit because I could not live in a camper.  For me, a northern girl, the other cool fact about Kayla is that her family acquired their farm in the Oklahoma land run.  So. Cool. People. Needless to say I fell in love with talking to Kayla and really looked forward to her next email.

 

She has a wonderful blog full of beautiful pictures. Unfortunately she does not get to post on it as much as she would like. Forgive her because she is in extremely rural, Northwestern (I think) North Dakota and decent internet is hard to come by so updating her blog is hard to do. I know I cannot wait to keep up with the places she travels and the adventures she has. 

 

I know I had a wonderful time shopping for Kayla. We honestly have a ton of the same tastes in makeup, colors and a love of everything cattle. When I got my box from her I could not wait to open it and let me tell you, Kayla did a fantastic job of picking products out for me. 

Cow Magnets – This just goes to show how amazing Kayla is. I raise Jersey and Holstein cows and then I told her in retirement I wanted to raise a herd of Scottish Highland cattle because I love how they look. So she got me these magnets from Steel Cow. They look adorable on the fridge and I love she got those for me. 

 

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick – I told Kayla I did not have very many nude and pink lipsticks (I tend to love red). She picked out this stunning color called Lovecraft. It is a beautiful, soft pink and is so versatile. The Studded Love lipstick has great staying power. Just watch the cap, sometimes it likes to come off so I would never just throw this lipstick in the bottom of my bag because it doesn’t always stay on and sometimes it won’t seal well. 

Porefessional – I gave this a try and I loved it. I tend to have big pores on my nose and even when I have had makeup on all day long, it still covers my pores really well. If this tends to be a problem for you too I would highly recommend this product!  

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows – I have a lot of eyeshadows. I have palettes, pots, creams. You name it, I have it. But these are some of my favorites I have used yet. They have a wonderful color payoff, great blend ability and they are very affordable. I told Kayla my favorite green was almost gone and she found me the perfect shade in this Makeup Geek shade called Poisen Ivy! I was so excited and thrilled because I had not been able to find a suitable replacement. 

If you have never heard of the Makeup Geek, you really are miss out! She has an awesome blog in addition to her makeup line. Her tutorials and videos are awesome especially for a beginner or someone trying to learn a new look. 

Gunmetal Magnetic Palette – This palette is a great addition to my makeup collection. It is huge and can fit a ton of pots. It will especially come in handy when traveling because I can put all of the shades I want into it and go! Talk about handy. I have never had one of these before and now I cannot figure out why. 

BareSkin Foundation – Kayla sent me a sample of the new BareSkin Foundation by Bare Minerals. I have actually used this before. Because I love it, I will share my post proclaiming my love of it again. If you have not tried this foundation you really should. It is light, smooth and has such a beautiful dewey look. 

 Needless to say, I am thrilled with my Beauty Swap box and I have definitely found a wonderful new friend and products to play with. What did you get in your Beauty Swap boxes? If you didn’t participate, what are some of your favorite beauty products that were not in my box?
