Being a beef farmer that means we eat a lot of beef. By beef I mean that we get a lot of different cuts. Steaks, roasts, ground beef, stew meat. You name it, we get it. I am always on the hunt for new ways to use roasts. To me, I can only eat a pot roast so many times before I need to do something different with it.
When I found this recipe I was excited. I knew I was going to put it to use as soon as possible and it was not a disappointment. My husband and my brother both approved. It tasted like tacos, just made in a slow cooker. So that makes it easier than normal tacos. If you can get a large steak or roast on sale, this is the perfect recipe for it.
Are you going to be trying this recipe or have you already tried it? I would love to know what you think about it!
- 1 Top Sirloin Roast
- 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 2 cans Rotel
- Generously cover your roast in taco seasoning, trying to cover it entirely. Place it in the slow cooker. Around the roast, pour the cans of Rotel. Put on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4-5. Shred the meat and mix it with the Rotel. Serve like you would tacos with garnishes of your choice.
Yep. I’ll be making this next week, if not sooner! I hope you and the ‘nugget’ are doing well!
Good choice! My husband really loves these things and I love that I can use whatever roast or steaks are in my freezer at the time. We are both doing awesome! I really can’t complain 🙂 We’re both getting bigger and bigger every day!
