You’re probably saying, “A Cooler in the Sauna? Really Ashley, that is ridiculous!” I know, it really is, but you should know by now that I’m all about ridiculous. It worked, because it got you here to read and look at this post. Today, it’s going to be well into the 90’s here in Michigan and it’s going to feel like 100 degrees plus! In case you didn’t know, that is hot in Michigan. I mean really hot. Like hot, as in I might go to Walmart just to be in central air.
Flavor Face-Off Video
For my first video, I am pretty proud of it. It’s certainly not perfect but I can only improve from here, right? So don’t forget to vote here and enjoy my video.
Wordless Wednesday: Round One
I said I would add photos of our first cutting grass. The grass we are taking off the field is called Triticale. It is a cross between wheat and rye and is a great choice to feed cows with. If you want to know more about harvesting grasses and hay check out my two posts from last year (Part 1 and Part 2).
Flavor Face-Off: Needs Your Vote!
In honor of June is Dairy Month, a dairy publication is hosting a great contest. They are playing a March Madness type tournament with ice cream flavors. The contest is called the Ice Cream Flavor Face-Off and it’s hosted by Progressive Dairyman.
Thank You on Memorial Day
Those of us on the farm want to say thank you to all of the veterans and anyone who has fought to preserve the freedom of our country. We have known dozens of people who have served across the world and your sacrifice is something we do not take lightly. Your family’s sacrifice is also something we don’t take lightly. Again, thank you and enjoy today because it’s your day!
Wordless Wednesday: Adventure on the Farm
My wordless Wednesday comes from a photography adventure my sister and I took around the farm yesterday. Enjoy!
The Most Important Woman in My Life… My Mother
Like most other young women in my career field we find the acceptance, support and lessons from our parents to be essential. They are something we never could have gotten where we are without. This is very true in my personal case, and this is especially true for my mother.
Rainy Days on the Farm
Normally, rainy days on the farm are low key and include inside work. Not today. We feel so lucky because our heifer barn managed to mix themselves together so we have a fun task of dividing 150 heifers back into their separate pens. The joys of being on a farm…. Never a dull moment. Hopefully it will go smooth and we will get to have some fun inside too!
